NOK Again Included in Leading FTSE ESG Indices, Achieves Higher FTSE ESG Rating
NOK Corporation (Headquarters: Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Group Chief Executive Officer: Masao Tsuru; hereinafter referred to as "NOK") has once again been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series, a leading global ESG investment index, as well as the FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Index and the FTSE JPX Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, both of which are adopted by Japan's Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
As part of this year's assessment, NOK improved its FTSE ESG Rating, awarded by the international ESG rating provider FTSE Russell, from 4.3 to 4.4 out of a maximum of 5.0. The score is well above the average for the automotive components sector, underscoring the Company's strong ESG performance.
NOK has long been committed to advancing its ESG initiatives in pursuit of both sustainable societal development and long-term corporate growth. On the environmental front, the Company is working toward achieving carbon neutrality under the NOK Twin Green Plan 2030. Socially, it has strengthened human rights due diligence across its supply chain and increased investment in human capital. From a governance perspective, NOK has further enhanced its governance framework through the establishment of an Audit and Supervisory Committee and a Nomination and Remuneration Advisory Committee. NOK believes this latest recognition reflects not only these ongoing initiatives, but also its commitment to transparent and timely disclosure of information.
