NOK Renews Work Uniforms to Mark 85th Anniversary
Introducing a group-wide unified design based on CI, directed by Kashiwa Sato
NOK Corporation (Headquarters: Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Group Chief Executive Officer: Masao Tsuru; hereinafter referred to as "NOK") will renew the work uniforms worn at production sites, research locations, and other workplaces for the first time in approximately 40 years, in conjunction with its 85th anniversary on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
The new uniforms feature a unified design for the entire Group, designed to reflect NOK’s corporate identity (CI) under the direction of Creative Director Kashiwa Sato of SAMURAI. The uniforms are scheduled to be introduced sequentially at business sites in Japan from October of this year. Through this renewal, NOK aims to improve employee safety and comfort while strengthening a sense of unity across the Group.
The NOK Group has practiced “Essential Core Manufacturing ― The manufacture of pivotal products that shape society,” drawing on its strengths in product development based on accumulated fundamental research and the high-quality, stable mass production. Through technologies and products that contribute to a wide range of industries, including the automotive industry, the Group supports the safety and comfort that form the foundation of a prosperous society.
This renewal aimed to create work uniforms that enable employees to work more safely and comfortably. In developing the new uniforms, NOK set three priorities: protecting the safety of wearers, ensuring that the uniforms do not affect product quality, and enhancing functionality and comfort. Employee feedback was reflected through the collection of more than 4,300 survey responses from all sites in Japan and in-person interviews with a total of 170 employees. Fitting sessions were also held at all production sites in Japan, and the Safety and Quality Department carried out repeated verification before the optimal items and specifications were finalized. In addition, the design embodies NOK’s corporate identity (CI), with the aim of strengthening a sense of unity across the Group.
Features of the New Uniforms
-Simple, smart design based on corporate identity (CI)
Directed by Kashiwa Sato, NOK adopted a simple, smart design that is not bound by trends, gender, or age, while optimizing safety and convenience during work.
-Specifications suited to diverse worksites To flexibly accommodate increasingly diverse work environments, NOK carefully determined the specifications of each part and expanded the lineup of items.
-Excellent mobility and comfort
The uniforms use three-dimensional cutting derived from sportswear patterns, along with lightweight materials selected with stretchability, quick-drying properties, and breathability in mind.
