MEKTEC Opens New Headquarters Office in Minato-ku, Tokyo
Consolidating Headquarters Functions, Supporting Organizational and Group Collaboration, and Establishing a Workplace That Embodies the Brand
MEKTEC Corporation (Headquarters: Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer: Taro Ito; hereinafter “MEKTEC”), a group company of NOK Corporation, opened a new headquarters office in the Onarimon Yusen Building in Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, on Monday, May 11, 2026. In conjunction with this move, MEKTEC integrated its former Tokyo Office in Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo, and consolidated headquarters functions that had been divided between the Ushiku Plant in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, and the former Tokyo Office into the new office.
This relocation and consolidation of headquarters functions is intended to strengthen MEKTEC’s management foundation for future growth. By consolidating company-wide functions, including corporate planning, sales, procurement, general affairs, human resources, and accounting, into a single location, MEKTEC will strengthen collaboration between departments and facilitate smoother decision-making and internal coordination.
The new office is also located near the headquarters of NOK Corporation in Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo, making it easier to promote collaboration within the NOK Group. MEKTEC will encourage personnel exchange and the sharing of technology and information, helping to create synergies across the NOK Group as a whole.
New Office Reflecting the NOK Group’s Workplace Reform
The NOK Group is advancing workplace reform to unlock the full potential of its organization and support sustainable growth. As part of this initiative, the Group established common Workplace Guidelines and has applied them as a framework for workplace renewal. These guidelines are designed to embody the NOK Group brand while creating workplace environments that support employee well-being, efficient and creative working styles, and communication across departments and locations. To date, workplace renewal initiatives based on these guidelines have been implemented at sites including NOK’s Kanagawa Branch, Anjo Branch, and Fukushima Plant.
The new office applies these guidelines and was designed under the concept of “Global Hub: Gather, Decide, Create.” It provides an environment where employees from MEKTEC sites in Japan and overseas, as well as from Group companies, can gather, interact, hold discussions, and make decisions more easily. By establishing a multipurpose space capable of accommodating events and meetings of around 50 people, the office will promote collaboration across departments and locations and enhance its function as a hub supporting global business operations.
