NOK Joins the Technology Promotion Alliance

Aiming to Commercialize Research Through Corporate Collaboration

NOK Corporation (Head Office: Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Group Chief Executive Officer: Masao Tsuru; hereinafter “NOK”) will join the Technology Promotion Alliance (a general incorporated association) (Head Office: Mukogaoka, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Co-Representatives: Tetsu Natsume and Nariaki Nishino; hereinafter “Technology Promotion Alliance”) in December 2025. Through this participation, NOK will promote cross-industry co-creation, strengthening mechanisms and networks that connect research outcomes to product development and commercialization, ultimately creating new value and supporting real-world implementation.

The NOK Group has supported the development of diverse industries on the strength of its proprietary elemental technologies, including sealing technology. Guided by its Purpose, “Shaping Possibilities with Unique Technology,” the Group pursues manufacturing worldwide that creates social value. Drawing on unique technologies built on organic chemistry and mechanical engineering, the organization is advancing R&D in priority fields such as xEV and green energy. To further develop these efforts, the Group will leverage the open innovation platform provided by the Technology Promotion Alliance and accelerate the real-world implementation of research outcomes through collaboration and partnerships with companies in other industries.

Technology Promotion Alliance 

The Technology Promotion Alliance is an open-innovation network administered by the general incorporated association of the same name. It links the R&D divisions of participating companies across Japan’s industries. By matching research “seeds” with market and industrial needs beyond corporate boundaries, the initiative aims to move research into real-world application and commercialization.
