NOK to Establish Five New Production Companies and Strengthen Domestic Production Network
NOK Corporation (Headquarters: Shibadaimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Group Chief Executive Officer: Masao Tsuru; hereinafter referred to as “NOK”) will restructure its production network in Japan and establish five new production companies effective April 1, 2026. By optimizing the allocation of management resources and strengthening its manufacturing structure, the company aims to enhance its global competitiveness and achieve sustainable business growth.
The business environment for automotive and general industrial machinery has shifted rapidly in recent years, driven by electrification, the adoption of new energy sources, and the move toward carbon neutrality. To enable NOK to respond swiftly to these changes, the company will reorganize its domestic production sites to increase flexibility in both decision-making and manufacturing.
NOK has built production sites across Japan since the 1960s, developing its business in step with local communities. The new production companies will carry this approach forward by maintaining regional operations, supporting employment and contributing to local economies. Through this restructuring, NOK strengthens its manufacturing foundation while continuing to work closely with the communities where it operates.
Establishing these production companies is one of the initiatives outlined in the Medium-Term Management Plan for FY2023 to FY2025, which focuses on building a business management structure for global growth. The NOK Group remains committed to providing safety and comfort, the cornerstones of a prosperous society, and realizing Essential Core Manufacturing, the manufacture of pivotal products that shape society.
